My name is Jenny Easton and I am College Achieve’s Social Worker. After graduating from Northeastern University, I went on to earn my Masters Degree in Social Work from Simmons College. I spent a significant amount of time working with families in Boston as well as the Bronx providing in home counseling to at risk families. Prior to coming to College Achieve, I spent 3 years working at Harlem Children’s Zone as the Social Worker for their Charter School Promise Academy. I am passionate about working with children and families and ensuring their emotional well being so that they can be their best selves!
At CACCS, I wear many different hats and the scholar’s and parents see me frequently throughout the school day in various capacities. •I provide individual and group counseling to scholar’s in all grades as recommended by their teachers, parents or Individualized Education Plan (IEP). These sessions may be geared to but not limited to; self-esteem, impulse control, anger management, peer relations and identifying and practicing coping skills. At the request of parents/guardians, I am able to assist in linking families to outside services when necessary. •Teach conflict resolution by pushing into classrooms to teach skills that our scholars can put into action as well as address this in small groups. •I have implemented a Character Education program which involves a different character trait of the month which is taught through a book that is read to each classroom either by myself or volunteer scholars. •Address Bullying concerns •And much much more !!!
